At the start of this year, I planned to take things slow—easing back into work and waiting until April to relaunch the Wisepreneurs Podcast. But then, Filip Drimalka asked if I’d like to have him on the show.
Just like that, we recorded episode 67 within a few hours, which went live last Friday. It was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up—Filip’s book, The Future of No Work, offers fascinating insights into how AI transforms how we work.
\nRather than fearing AI, we have a chance—at any stage in our careers—to embrace it and redefine how we work. Filip challenges us to see AI not as a threat but as a tool to amplify our expertise, increase efficiency, and open new possibilities.
By the way, Filip talks about taking a ‘workation’—travelling while working—which he embraces fully. Based in the Czech Republic, I spoke to him while he was in Sri Lanka, just before he headed to Australia. On a similar note, I’ll be travelling for the next month, setting off this Friday on a three-week cruise to Japan, followed by a week exploring the country before flying home in late March. I will keep in touch in the meantime.
How AI Can Empower You to Work Smarter, Not Harder
\nIf you’ve ever wondered whether AI is a threat to your work or an opportunity, Filip Drimalka has an interesting answer:
AI isn’t here to replace professionals—it’s here to amplify your expertise, free up your time, and open new doors for innovation.
Filip, the author of The Future of No Work, recently joined me on the Wisepreneurs podcast to share his insights on the evolving nature of work. His message? AI isn’t taking away jobs—it’s changing how we create value.
I think for the independent professionals over 60, this presents some incredible opportunities to explore man.
AI as Your Personal Productivity Partner
\nMany of us have spent decades building deep expertise, honing our skills, and delivering real value to our clients. But as Filip points out, knowledge work is shifting—not disappearing.
\nAI is an extension of human capability, helping us work faster, smarter, and more effectively.
\nRather than getting bogged down in repetitive tasks, you can now:
\nThese aren’t futuristic concepts—they’re things you can start doing today.
\nMindset Over Tools: The Key to Thriving with AI
\nFilip emphasises that AI skills aren’t about mastering a specific tool but about having the right mindset.
\nInstead of asking, Can AI do this? Start asking, How can AI make this easier for me?
\nHere are three simple ways to develop an AI-first mindset:
\nThe Future of Work = More Freedom
\nFilip’s ideas align perfectly with the Wisepreneur's mission: empowering independent professionals, most often women over 60, to work independently, productively, and with purpose.
\nAI isn’t here to force you out of the workforce but to give you back control over your time and expertise.

Hello Reader, Work, Wander, and… Wi-Fi? This past month I went on a bit of an experiment: working while traveling — a “workation,” inspired by my podcast chat with Filip Drimalka. Three weeks on a cruise. One week on a bus tour in Japan. A laptop in one hand, coffee in the other. And a lot of lessons along the way. The cruise? Surprisingly productive — when I wasn’t distracted by shows, sightseeing, or saying yes to another dessert (I came back 2kg heavier). I did manage to keep up with some...
Hello Reader,As I send out this newsletter, I’m in the final stretch of my cruise, preparing to land in Kagoshima—my first stop in Japan. While the idea of a “workation” sounded appealing, I’ve learned that balancing work and travel isn’t as effortless as it seems. The distractions are plenty, and the food? Simply too good to ignore. Next time, I might opt for a single destination—working first, then fully immersing myself in the experience. Despite the challenges, I’ve made significant...
